Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Giana Luna was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her raw, honest lyrics read like a diary, which are wrapped in pop melodies over arrangements varying from acoustic folk-pop, to dreamy pop. She loves exploring with layering vocals and harmonies.
From 2014-2017, she was signed to a local music label and released an EP, a Christmas single, and an album under a different stage name. After going independent, she released an EP in 2018. This music is no longer available for streaming. However, Giana has performed her music in states along the East Coast (NY, NJ, PA, DL, and WV), and her music has received local and internet radioplay since 2014.
Giana is both a formally trained and self-taught musician. In addition to eight years of piano lessons, she's taught herself how to sing and play the ukulele and the guitar. In 2021, she picked up bass and drums for her residency at Howl at the Moon as a dueling pianist, which lasted until the closure of their Philadelphia club in July 2024. From July-August that year, Giana played with Howl as part of their residency at Gin Rickey's in the Tropicana in Atlantic City. Since the summer residency ended, Giana has been gigging independently in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas and working as a historcial tour guide for Philadelphia.
In July of 2022, Giana launched the Shoujo Sundae podcast with her co-host Chika Supreme, where the two reviewed shoujo (or shojo) anime and films. On the podcast, episode of anime is broken down into categories to reflect on the symbolism, positive/negative aspects, and hot takes of each show they review. In 2024, Shoujo Sundae won a Listener's Choice award in the Signal Awards' Recaps category, making it the first award-winning shoujo podcast in the United States. The podcast released its final episode in November of 2025.
"Twilight Champagne", Giana's debut single, was released on August 31st, 2023. It is available for streaming on all music platforms, and also available for free download or purchase on Bandcamp. She hopes to release an EP before the end of 2026.
